Brilliant Bluegrass Festival in Bruff!

BRUFF BLUEGRASS MUSIC FESTIVAL
Bruff kicks off its third festival of 2009 on Friday, October 2 with the Stars of Bluegrass Music coming to town. It is a first for Limerick and another example of the positive efforts being made by people in the community who want to raise the profile of our town for the benefit of business and community.
The line up is really impressive with RTE Radio Presenter and recording Artist NIALL TONER and his Band in town on Saturday night. On Friday we have a real treat to open the festival with a Star of The Grand Old Oprey Banjo impresario from the USA, TOM HANWAY with his band THE MOLLY HICKS who will play two nights. The much traveled Northern Band TENNESSEE HENNESSEE from Belfast roll in on the opening night. We are privileged to also welcome some great Bluegrass Bands from the IRISH BLUEGRASS CIRCUIT - from ATHY Ireland’s finest WOODBINE, from WESTMEATH a great bluegrass trio BENDING THE STRINGS and finally from Mallow the latest on the Bluegrass scene SOUTHERN UNION. A weekend of truly the best of music for everyone to savor and a special day on Sunday 4 from 2.30pm with The HILLBILLY TRACTOR RUN, proceeds of which go to Milford Hospice. 3.30pm on the street CAJUN BBQ and plenty more Bluegrass music to finish.
